About This Quiz

Cursive, sometimes referred to as script, joined-up writing or longhand, is a style of penmanship which many of the characters in a word are written in a flowing or joined together manner. The script was developed as a way to write faster because it does not require the writer to lift the pen as frequently as the "average script".

The word cursive can be traced back to the Italian word corsivo, which means running and just like the English version of cursive, but other languages have also been using the script for over a century.

Cursive has been described as one of the most difficult scripts to understand and many have likened it to a foreign language. There are those of us who are able to write and understand it flawlessly but for those of us who cannot, it can be a tedious task to read.
